When I was in my late teens and early 20's I loved moving. For a while there I was moving around every 6 months. I thrived on change. I was strong enough to carry most boxes and cute enough to get someone else to carry the rest. I had very little mail to forward/ address change and no one depending on me to make sure they will have a school to attend in 3 weeks (not that he would mind sitting out the rest of the year).
Fast forward a dozen or so years... moving is a big pain in my big rear! The end result is very much something to look forward too, but right now I keep catching myself wandering around my 1/2 packed house with empty boxes and a dusting rag really wondering if 10 in the morning is too early for a glass of wine.
Argh!

Ohhh... So that's where the $ goes
Things I should not/will not (maybe) again purchase from Costco:
yogurt- I actually only like yogurt in my I don't eat real food mind and now have to eat 24 in 2weeks
mustard- because really, who needs that much mustard all at once
Parm. Cheese- see mustard
Blueberries- because I love blueberries and will sit down and eat the entire package at once. As one can imagine, it does not end well.
Anything that the kids say "oh yeah, I will totally eat that, I love it"
Don't get me wrong, I am a Costco fan. It is just that I become overwhelmed by the lights and noise and samples and lack of windows and odd things end up in my cart. Also, I forget I don't like yogurt.
Happy Shopping!

Gritting my teeth...
The boys in my life have been ill the last few days. So far I have managed to avoid flu/cold like symptoms. However, as the designated "well" person in the house my days have not been filled with roses and happy music. Today Husband went back to work. I am now alone with two boys who are still too sick for school but not sick enough to want to be home. To top it off Husband and I are practicing having one car (the idea being if we can do it for a month without going crazy, we will sell one car) and I foolishly said "hey go ahead and take the car today honey, the boys are sick and we won't be going anywhere". In my defense I had yet to injest the required coffee for the morning.
I did think to mention to him that I might perhaps need a treat upon his return from the outside world. A slice of that new Lava Cake featured on menu would work. (Husband is a chef)
Wish me luck.

the ants go marching on and on....
It is official, I live in the middle of a giant ant hill. It has been raining here the last few days and last night I guess the ants had a meeting of some sort and decided to come on in and make themeselves at home. The end result was a panic attack (me) an irritated spouse (husband) and oblivious children (sons 1 and 2). I think another glass of wine is in order (it is no longer morning so wine is ok... I was patient) and then I will try and schedule a meeting with the Queen Ant. At the very least they should pay a portion of the rent. Ah... maybe I shouldn't have that second glass of wine.
oh well.

let's hear it for women who ROAR!!!
This morning (very early.. not even light out yet) I had the most amazing experience with two amazning women. (not like that guys) We were at work listening to great music in our work groove doing what we do best, because we are the shit! There were discussions about all of those taboo topics; religion, politics, sex. We didn't all hold the same opinions (how dull would that be) but nobody became pissy and heated. We were just 3 educated, interesting, totally hot ladies and the strength in the room was palatable.
This experience left me on a total high and I couldn't help thinking about all of the strong women in my life. My mother, grandmother, my totally awesome Aunt. (who will hopefully make many comments on my 2nd ever blog post) My girlfriend from highschool who has dedicated her life to making sure this earth remains a beautiful place for our children.
I am so thankful that my two amazing sons will grow older in an enviroment of amazing women.
Ok ladies... Let's ROAR!
